Karen Emms is a classically trained soprano singer. She has sung with a number of choirs and ensembles including the role of Papagena for Suffolk Opera's production of the Magic Flute and 1st witch in Dido and Aeneas with the Aurora Consort. She also sings jazz and pop most recently with The Brinkleys. Karen is interested in voice production in different genres and continues to develop her studies in this.

She has arranged music for small choirs and is currently preparing her own compositions for her debut album. Watch this space.

Karen trained at the Colchester Institute gaining a BA (Hons) in music. She plays the piano and oboe. Karen then continued her studies to become a qualified classroom music teacher and tutor for Essex Music Services specialising in teaching singing, piano, oboe and music theory. She shares her passion for music in all forms as well as teaching she also directs, conducts and performs.
